[아시아투데이=조은주 기자] 한국 아이돌 그룹 비스트의 일본 입국 거부 사태를 놓고 "한국이 일본 자민당 의원의 입국을 거부한 데 대한 보복 아니냐"는 등의 추측이 난무하고 있는 가운데 일본 정부가 이에 대해 "정치적인 차원이 아니라 단순한 서류상 문제일 뿐"이라고 해명하고 나섰다.

익 명을 요구한 일본 정부 관계자는 18일 한 언론 매체를 통해 "이번 사안은 양국간 비자 면제협정 대상에 해당하지 않는다고 판단했을 뿐 (한국의) 일부가 오해하듯 '정치적 복수'나 '한류 스타의 입국 절차 강화'와는 관련이 없다"고 밝혔다.

입국을 거부한 도쿄 입국관리국 하네다 공항지국 관계자도 제3자를 통해 "비스트가 6월에도 비자 없이 (일본에) 입국하려고 했다가 문제가 돼서 '다음부터는 흥행(공연) 비자를 받겠다'고 약속한 적이 있다"밝혔다.

그는 그러면서 "이번에는 미리 흥행 비자를 신청하기는 했지만 계약서가 빠진 탓에 발급하지 않았다. 그런데도 비자 없이 입국하려고 했기 때문에 돌려보냈다"고 경위를 설명했다.
이에 대해 비스트 소속사인 큐브엔터테인먼트 관계자는 "사례금을 받지 않기로 했고 일본에 가기 전 일본 음반유통사인 유니버셜 뮤직 재팬에 '비자 없이 가도 되느냐'고 물어봤더니 괜찮다고 해서 그 말을 믿었다"고 말했다.

유 니버설 뮤직 재팬 관계자는 "비스트를 초청한 회사는 따로 있고 비자 신청은 우리가 하다 보니까 의사소통상 문제가 있었다. 비스트를 초청한 회사가 '흥행 비자 없이도 입국할 수 있다'고 판단한 이유나 사례금을 주기로 했는지는 잘 모르겠다"고 해명했다.

그는 또 "앞으로는 우리가 연예인을 직접 초청하지 않았더라도 반드시 흥행 비자를 받도록 하겠다"고 덧붙였다.

일 본 외무성 관계자는 "일본은 한국인이 관광 목적으로 일본을 방문할 경우 90일간 비자 없이 머물 수 있게 하고 있지만 사례금 등 수익이 발생하는 일과 관련해 입국할 경우에는 어느 국가 국민에게든 흥행비자 등을 요구하고 있다"고 설명했다.
